Back in Khao Lak and Thailand once again...

We have arrived!
We're back in Khao Lak once again!

This trip was a spur of the moment decision as we hadn't planned to travel anywhere for at least a couple of months and were originally going to have longer time away. But a few things at home changed all of that ;)

As we found out that we were expecting we realised that if we wanted to travel on our own again (for a very long time), we had to take the opportunity and do it right away! We debated on where to go and since we were only travelling for slightly over a week, we did't want to have to travel too far!

Eventually we settled on Thailand due to ease of access, friends to visit and just because it's such a great place to visit... this was to be our "Babymoon" =)

A nice and cold welcome drink!
I did bring my own stubbie holder ;)

It was great to come back to Khao Lak once again, I will always have fond memories of the place... even though each time I come to visit the place seems to go through massive changes. We of course visited Poseidon Bungalows and Olof once again and also caught up with Alex and his new restaurant, the Khao Niau.

Normally this is where we write about everything that happened during our trip such as areas we visited, sightseeing we did etc. This time we can honestly say that we did very little... and were quite happy with that as well!

So, other than lying in the pool, eating great food and getting awesome massages... we didn't really do much ;)

"Pad See Ew"
One of Suz's favorite dishes!

Oh yes, I obviously did do a few dives once again. I visited Koh Bon trying to see the Mantas once again but had no luck in the matter this time, still a nice dive site though!

And I also did a dive at the "Boonsung Wreck", which is not part of the Similans but located close to the Khao Lak shore. This was a new dive site for me and it was really good! The visibility wasn't as good as out in the Similan Islands but there was so much fish life that it didn't matter. I saw massive schools of Snappers, Batfish and also Trevally plus plenty of Lion Fish, Stone Fish, Moray Eels etc. All in all a couple of great dives... even if I had to get there in a longtail boat ;)

So, we had a very nice and relaxing short holiday, which was just what we were looking for. And for our next holiday overseas, we wont be alone anymore... can't wait ;)
